Tennis: Striking their way back

The tennis teams have been working toward achieving a high level of play. Both Junior Varsity and Varsity teams are filled with competitive players who want to win, not only for themselves but for their school.

The overall score for Varsity is six wins and four losses.

Coach Michael Lopez is new to Brandeis tennis. Lopez has been coaching for 13 years.

“I feel our players stepped up and played some great tennis, and I am looking forward to our spring season,”  Lopez said. “It [the season] has been great. I truly enjoy working with a great group of players.”

Junior Eloise D’Haiti is a varsity tennis player and has been on the team since her freshman year.

“His [Lopez} coaching style differs from our previous coach, so it’s hard to adapt. Overall, he has good advice, and  I’m sure he’ll become the coach that leads Brandeis High School to better places,” D’haiti said.

Senior Alondra Sandoval feels the season was a success.

“I believe our season went well and we gave our all.” Sandoval said.
