Service Hour Ideas

In need of service hours? Here are some ideas as to how to gain these much needed hours.

Robotics
The Brandeis Robotics students, and “bronc-bots”, are often competing in tournaments and are in need of volunteers. There are several positions available to students and signing up is easy. Simply talk to sponsor Tamela Delong in C157 to get information on these volunteering opportunities.

The Library
Currently the Brandeis Library is sorting their collection of novels into several color coded genres (such as mystery, horror, sci-fi, etc…). Librarian Connie Lippenholz is currently looking for students to help identify and color code their current collection of novels and is offering service hours for those who volunteer to help. Simply go to see her for more information on this opportunity.

The Humane Society
If you’re an animal lover, the humane society provides the perfect opportunity to gain hours, while helping animals (a win-win situation). You can help support an organization which is definitely in need of help and volunteers. You can contact the San Antonio Humane Society and the Helotes Humane Society.

The San Antonio Food Bank
The San Antonio Food Bank, providing food to hungry families, is always in need of volunteers. Helping to provide food for families in need is one of the best ways to earn your service hours. Help you community and the families in need in San Antonio by volunteering at the Food Bank.
