Reaping benefits of new schedule

Changes were made for bus s811 after being late multiple times before and after school the last few years.

After administration kept record of the time schedule, modifications were made and  bus s811 runs more timely, however, some students wonder why it took so long.

“The new schedule is kind of better but it’s pretty frustrating it took nearly two and a half years to be improved,” junior  Gisell Loredo said.

Some students adapted their routine to the late schedule of waiting 20 minutes to an hour after school and find it difficult to get used to an earlier departure.

“With the old [schedule] I had time to go to my locker, talk to friends more, and do homework,” freshman Mary Rose Harkleroad  said. “But now that it leaves early, I have to hurry to get to the  bus before it leaves.”

Sophomore Abraham Calderon said he finds the change “bitter sweet” because, on one hand, he could visit with friends for half an hour after school but, on the other hand, he gets home and to school earlier.

Riders arrive 10 minutes earlier to their morning stop allowing them to begin their day more efficiently.

“I like the new schedule better,” Harkleroad said. “Because we get to school earlier and I have more time to go to tutoring, talk to friends and finish homework.”
