Tonight at 6:00pm at Northside Athletic Complex the girls varsity basketball team will take on the Clark cougars.

Here’s what the to expect tonight:

Head coach Gerald McCaslin lets fans know how their opponents are being expected to play.

“I expect Clark to really push the tempo, try to speed the game up, trap us, and get us rattled. We haven’t shown that we can handle traps yet. They are going to try and neutralize Amaya a little bit and just put a lot of pressure on our guards,” McCaslin said.

After a tough loss against the raiders, the girls coach tells fans what they are hoping to transfer from their previous game into today’s game.

“We ended the Taft game on a really good note. We went down 30, but we ended up only losing by 14. We found out in the second half that we’re actually good enough to play with them. We hit some shots. We were able to make a lot of our layups. We were just able to handle the pressure a lot better, so we’re hoping to carry that over into this game so that we have the confidence to just go out there and play,” McCaslin said.

In efforts of being victorious against Clark, Coach McCaslin is making adjustments to the girls defense.

“The changes I’m making to my defense is adding in our presses; we have two presses that we use. We don’t use them very much because we’re such a good defensive team, but I think for this game we’re going to vary up our defenses. We’re going to add in a  1-3-1, a 1-2-11, and a 1-2-2 zone to try and throw them off a little bit,” McCaslin said.

Be sure to go out tonight to support your lady husky basketball players as they take on the Clark cougars at Northside Athletic Complex at 6:00pm.
