If you saw our last post then you know we have begun our latest interactive feature. So here is game two of our bean and cheese taco tournament.

The Gavel Staff continues the 1st Annual HHS Taco Tourney with a mind blowing battle between old time favorite Tink-A-Taco and the newly refurbished Taurinos, giving us a thrilling second battle.

In our last matchup, we saw Dos beat out Los Balitos, and we had a fun time rating the two taco joints and we’re ready for game two. Using the same process and rubric, we will be rating them equally and unbiasedly. Here is the rubric that our staff created by which we rated these locations once again to determine who is the victor:

The first rubric item we have is the bean-to-cheese ratio; just how balanced these tacos are. Tink-A-Taco had a lot of points gained from this section.

Next is the bean quality. Do they taste like canned beans, or freshly mashed and fried? Tink-A-Taco once again won more points in this category as well.

Another item is the cheese quality. Is it grated American cheese, or high quality dairy products? Taurinos stole this from the thus-far victorious Tink-A-Taco.

The tortilla quality is next on the list, bought from the store or homemade and perfected by Mom? Taurinos very soft and powdery tortillas dominitated this category.

The value of the tacos is next, where price and size are considered here. Tink-A-Taco had the best value and size, earning them more points.

Finally, we have the convenience of the location, just how far is it, and how fast is the service? Tink-A-Taco also proved to be more convenient due its close proximity, earning them the final points.

Just as before, we added up all the points they got collectively, divided the numbers by the amount of judges we had, and then compared the two to determine the victor of the second round. This round was so intense we had to recount twice in order to make sure we know who won.

For the second round of this year’s Taco Tourney, Tink-A-Taco claims the win after a close head to head matchup, with only a few points between the two. and is moving on the the next round of the competition.

Gavel Staff Member Lucille Gradillas said that Tink-A-Taco’s tortillas were “fresh and made with care, having a great soft and powdery taste.”

Tune in to find out who wins the next round, Bill Millers vs. Taco Cabana. Check us out later this week for those results!
