DeWalt has received many accolades this year for her performance on the court, including Instant Replay’s Scholar Athlete of the Week.
She has been a member of the varsity team all four years of high school and has been captain of the team for two. DeWalt has also received several other titles in this timespan.
She was a member of the 2016 Express- News All-Area Super Team and awarded all- state and academic all-district titles.
DeWalt has been playing the sport since second grade, and the eleven years of practice and dedication have not been wasted, proven by the recognition she has received.
“It feels good knowing I’m getting it done on the court and in the classroom,” DeWalt said.
Senior year will conclude her high school days but not her volleyball career.
DeWalt was given the opportunity to continue playing volleyball at Texas State University where she plans to major in chemistry.
