Soccer kicked off their season with a great start, varsity girls won the Smithson Valley Tournament and Varsity boys won the New Braunfels Tournament. Varsity girls head coach Travis Smith, was proud of the way his team was able to score a goal in 46 seconds into the 2nd half to tie 1-1 and ending the game with a final score of 3-2. Head coach of the boys Varsity soccer team, Brian Maher, was thrilled that their defense was focused and played a great game.
Both Smith and Maher are anticipating good seasons brought by their dedicated seniors who are already leading the teams to victory.
“We have a wonderful group of seniors that push the team every single day and I cannot wait to see where their leadership takes us.” Smith said.
One of their leading senior Danielle Kays is looking forward to the upcoming season and all the new opportunities that will come with it.
“ I am looking forward to this new season with a new coach and also getting passed second round in playoffs.” Kays said.
Carter Bryant, a leading senior for the boys, is also excited about the upcoming season and “ being able to play with all my friends for the last time.”
Generally speaking it should be a great season to end the seniors high school soccer careers.
