McKayla Schott: Have you lived in San Antonio your whole life?
Kristen Pietruzynski: No, I grew up moving around everywhere, I pretty much grew up in the midwest in Omaha, Nebraska and the Chicago land area. I’ve been in San Antonio since 2007.
MS: What college did you attend?
KP: I attended Northwest Vista for 3 years, then I transferred to UNT and got a degree in applied technology and performance improvement.
MS: What is your previous job experience?
KP: I was a substitute teacher for Northside. I was also a freelance graphic designer and a web master which means I designed and maintained websites.
MS: What is your role on campus?
KP: I am the Technology support specialists or the TSS. I provide tech support to all the teachers and train new teachers on Google Apps for education, gradebook and troubleshooting the computers.
MS: What has your experience been with the student body?
KP: I have met the students coming in and out of the lab; some of them see me walking down the hallway trying to carry a million boxes and they will stop and help me. The students have been great so far and have been very helpful. I can even ask them questions and they are more than happy to help me out.
MS: What has your impression been of the campus so far?
KP: Everyone was very welcoming, it felt like a family and it was very homey. The teacher, staff and students all connect with each other and everyone is very respectful. It feels like a college campus, it doesn’t feel like your typical high school, everyone is very work oriented, very focused on their studies.
