Astronomy club held their annual egg drop Wednesday, Nov. 14 after school with three of the group’s eggs surviving the drop while two group’s eggs got scrambled.
“It felt heart crushing,” said senior Miguel Fabrigas, a member of one of the losing teams. “I felt my future in engineering slip through my hands.”
The groups made safety nests out of plastic cups, plastic bags, rubber bands, cotton and tape. With each launch from the ramp outside the music hall, groups gasped in fear for their egg and anxiously unwrapped the packaging to see results. Senior Alexandra Kaye’s group’s egg was one of the lucky ones.
“I love the fact it survived,” Kaye said. “It was really entertaining. We did it last year, too, so we decided to bring it back.”
