We have incredibly talented groups and organizations on campus, and throughout the year, a different group will be given special recognition in this column. To start the year off I would like to acknowledge some of the best custodians in the district. Every day they come to work in the most cheerful mood and fulfill their daily duties as well as extra tasks thrown at them, making them some of the hardest-working, most under-appreciated staff members, and for that we would like to thank them.
Although it is their job to maintain the campus and make sure students have everything they need, our custodians go above and beyond by doing things such as approaching us to ask for our empty lunch trays or doing special favors for teachers and organizations.
“The students motivate all of us; the number one thing that keeps us going is you all, especially the ones that help us out and pick up and throw trash away for us. We really appreciate it,” custodian Jerry Gomez said.
Not only are our custodians hard-working, but they are also extremely friendly and good to one another, as well as all other people on campus. They have formed a bond while doing their jobs and like to have as much fun as possible throughout the day. Next time you get the chance, help or thank a custodian. They do so much for us that goes completely overlooked.
