Tomorrow night at Farris stadium at 7pm the varsity football team will compete against the Brandeis Broncos. Here’s what the coaches have to say about tomorrow night:

Co-offensive coordinator Adrian Velasquez talks about the Broncos’ defensive line.

“Defensively, they are fundamentally sound.Very big, very aggressive up front. We have a good plan of attack to approach them Saturday, to give our kids a fighting chance. Hopefully, they play well and come out victorious,” Velasquez said.

Head coach Juan Morales gives insight on the opponent’s offensive line and some key players.

“They’ve been hurt a little bit. Their quarterback is back, and he’s and extremely good quarterback. Their number one running back is out, and the replacement for that back is still pretty good, but not as big. We’re going to see if we can play with the line a little bit. Their line is really experienced and they move very well, so as long as we play good fundamental defense, I think we’ll have an opportunity to stop them,” Morales said.

Coach Velasquez discusses how he and the other coaches maintain a positive mindset amongst their players after recent losses.

“Every team has struggles throughout the year. They all face adversity. We all just keep them focused, into the team. The coaches do a great job keeping them motivated on and off the field. We keep encouraging them to work hard and finish off the season strong,” Velasquez said.

After a week of practices due to the bye week, Coach Morales lets fans know what to expect from the team.

“I think you’re going to see a different kind of Holmes as far as the amount of concentration and confidence that they’re playing with right now. They’ve had a chance to kind of recuperate after a week of being off, so they’ve had an opportunity to sort of gel together. Hopefully, all the rest and all that concentration will come out this week and they’ll play a lot better,” Morales said.
