Today at 2:00pm at Gus stadium the Huskies take on the Clark Cougars in their final matchup of the season. Here’s what the coaches have to say about the game:

Co-offensive coordinator Sean Salinas explains what the Cougars’ defense will look like today.

“In their defense, they run a 4-2. I don’t think they’re amazing in the secondary, but they have some guys up front that can play. Just through looking at film, we think it’s going to be a good matchup for us, but every game presents it’s own challenges, once you get in it,” Salinas said.

Head coach Juan Morales speaks out on Clark’s offensive line and expectations.

“I expect a really good game upfront. They have a good line, and we have a really good upperclass line, so they’re really going to knock some heads. It’s going to be a little bit of a struggle because we’re going in with a different quarterback, so it’ll be a little bit like Marshall’s lineup, but it’s a good learning experience for them. It’ll be fun to see how they handle the challenge,” Morales said.

Coach Morales and coach Salinas further lets their fans know what kind of things they can expect at the game later on this afternoon.

“You’re going to see a bunch of guys that are really hungry, trying to get this last win, that have bonded together, that have gotten better every week. I think they’re going to see a really good game,” Morales said.

“[Fans] should expect our guys to go out there and play hard. I mean, everything we’ve done in the past two weeks, especially offensively and defensively too, we’ve had some moments where we’ve been consistent. We just need to work on being more consistent throughout the entirety of the game. I think that’s been one of our problems is that putting four quarters together has been tough, and our guys being out there playing four quarters, that’s what we want them to do, so we’re hoping that we can do that for the fans and community,” Salinas said.

Coach Morales gives thanks to his players and to those who have provided support throughout the season as the last game approaches.

“We appreciate all their support, all their encouragement. It’s definitely an awesome feeling to finish a game, whether we win or lose, to have a whole bunch of people in the stands, cheering us on and telling us that they’re behind us no matter what. I want to thank them. I want to thank all our team, especially our seniors, they’ve been working really hard. I know its not the season they were expecting, and they’ve had a lot of ups and downs all this year, but with the ones that have stuck it out and been here, I’m really happy that they are here and that they hopefully learned something from the experience,” Morales said.

Go out this afternoon and support your varsity huskies as they take on the Clark cougars at Gus stadium at 2:00pm.
