Dear Editors:

The Gavel consistently does an excellent job. You and the staff deserve a lot of credit. The content is thoughtful and well-edited, with no fluff. My grandson is a student at Holmes, and brings a copy home for me to read. Please accept my congratulations and my wish for your success in the future.

I’m a retired journalist myself and worked for more than 20 years at newspapers. It’s nice to see that even though newspapers are dying the thought processes necessary for good journalism are still alive.
