After a rainy 23-6 loss to the Stevens Falcons, the Huskies are preparing for their fight against the Warren Warriors this Saturday at Gustafson Stadium at 7:00 p.m. Here’s what the coaches think about last week’s rainy match and this Saturday’s game against Warren.

Head Coach Juan Morales shared what was learned from the Stevens game and how the team is going to apply it this Saturday:

“Last game did not go as well as we wanted it to. We struggled offensively and I don’t think the rain helped. Both teams had to play under the same circumstances and we just weren’t able to establish a good passing game. What we learned is just that we need to be able to adjust to circumstances,” Morales said.

Morales spoke on the Warriors offense and what fans should expect on Saturday:

“They are not very difficult in terms of scheme offensively, they’re just very athletic. They have good receivers and a good quarterback as well as a decent running back, so we just need to be able to put a stop to their skill players more than their offensive line. We should see a spread offense and we know that they are really good at running,” Morales said.

Morales also shared his thoughts about Warren’s defense:

“The defense we are going to play against is probably one of the best in the district; even better than O’Connor. They have very stout linebackers and a strong defensive line and they are very fast. We need to run several things in order to create some misdirection and confuse them,” Morales said.

This week Senior defensive end Kriovani Johnson has returned ready to play after a long recovery from a back injury. As for the Stevens game, there are no new injuries sustained by the team from last week.

Morales shares how fans can help support the Huskies this Saturday.

“This week is our gold out game so we want everyone to wear gold to show a sign of support. We definitely want a strong force of people in the stands just being positive no matter what happens. I also want fans to know that no matter what the scoreboard says, our guys are working hard and trying their best so encouragement and positive vibes is what we want watching us,” he said.
