The Huskies have been preparing and working hard this week to take on the Brandeis Broncos tonight at Farris Stadium on the visitors side at 7:00 p.m after a tough battle against Taft last week that started with a flurry of Husky scoring but ultimately ended in a loss.
Head coach Juan Morales shared what was learned from last week’s game and how the team is going apply it to this weeks game.
“Our game against Taft could’ve been a lot better in terms of the mistakes we made. Going in, we focused so much on not making mistakes that we made more than normal. We played really well, especially defense-wise because they were put into a lot of difficult positions. In the end, we did really well,” Morales said.
Morales also spoke on the Brandeis offense and what fans should expect to see from them:
“Brandeis is a good team no matter what, offensively and defensively. They’re going to have a lot of shift and more movements. They have good athletic boys that are great in size, so it is going to be difficult for us. If we do our job and stay focused, we could do really well,” Morales said.
Morales also shared his thoughts about Brandeis’ defense and how the Huskies will try to counter it:
“Brandeis plays a really tough game in terms of their front line. They have some of the best front line, but they lack sometimes in their secondary. In this game, we’ll try and take advantage of that,” Morales said.
Morales also gave insight on injuries that may be important from our team:
“There we have several injuries with our senior wide receiver Jake Lee. He’ll be out this game. We also have one of our quarterbacks, Chris Medlez, who’s a freshman, with a hurt ankle. We have several hurt knees too like Damian DeLuna, who’s now just coming back,” Morales said.
How can the fans best support the team this week:
“This week its going to be tough because we’re at Farris and its going to be a little cold. If the fans could get there and and support us, that would be great,” Morales said.
