After a tough 42-6 loss to a talented O’Connor team, the Huskies are back and ready to take on the Stevens Falcons this Saturday at Gustafson Stadium at 7:00 p.m. This is what the coaches had to say about last weeks matchup against O’Connor and this Saturday’s game against Stevens.

Head Coach Juan Morales explains how the O’connor game helped them move forward and learn about this year’s team:
“I think that we had a slow start and they were able to score early, but we buckled down and started to come together as an offense to move the ball. We made a few mistakes but they are mistakes we will live with, and now we understand that we can move the ball against one of the best defenses in the district,” Morales said.
Morales also spoke about what we should expect to see offensively from Stevens on Saturday:
“Stevens has a really speedy and shifty quarterback and a very tough running back. Those are their two major weapons and I think they’re relatively young, as far as their offensive line. Their receiver core is not as strong as they’ve had in the past, so we’ll work on trying to contain their two backs,” Morales said.
Morales shares his thoughts about the Stevens defense:
“Stevens is really stout up front, but definitely not to the caliber we saw with O’Connor. I feel confident in ourselves that we can get really competitive in terms of pushing them around and getting where they need to be,” Morales said.

Morales opened up and explained the injuries they have endured and the excitement of having one of his players back.
“Well Brandon Reynosa, our kicker is still out right now. Jose Martinez is back and he was out for the first two games but he is able to play with us for the upcoming game,” Morales said.
Instead of focusing only on the fans, Morales gave a huge shoutout to the parents, for always showing their love and support for their boys and never giving up on them.
“This week we have a recognition of our parents so we want the fans to come out and help support the parents by supporting us,” Morales said.
