Jordan students singing songs from the movie Sing.

Have you ever thought about how a performance would go in front of everyone? Do you think it would feel great? Would you be nervous?

October 4th, the choir performed songs from Sing 2 and one is from the original Sing.  This performance was held in Jordan Middle School’s Cafeteria, and started at 6:00 PM. The first performance of the evening was the “Star Spangled Banner” with the “Jordan Anthem” and “Hallelujah.” After those two performances, the Warren Choir sang “I Need Your Love.” The crowd loved that song, and I was swept away by Aria Juarez’s voice. Then the Jordan Choir sang “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For.”

After the performance, the Warren Choir came back with “Jar Of Hearts.” It was an amazing performance. In addition, the Jordan Choir sang “Could’ve Been Me.” The last performance of the concert was “I’m Still Standing.”

After the concert, I managed to talk to Aria Juarez and Maddie Dominguez. They are both from Warren’s Choir. “We are ready to get on stage for an audience,” said  Aria Juraez. This makes me feel that they are ready for anything, and I’m happy to see that. When faced with a challenge, Aria stated, “We just try to get things done as possible. We just practice.”

Maddie Dominguez, a former Jaguar, admitted, “I was kinda nervous.” I get it, it’s nerve racking to be on stage, but you would never know by her performance. Maddie continued, “There are sometimes difficulties, but we manage to get through.” It was great to see and have Maddie back on campus, performing on the stage she knows well.

Mrs. Balmer excited to present her students this year at the fall concert.

I was talking to Rose Gardener about the choir performance, I asked her about how the Warren Choir performance was and she responded, “It was impressive, although my parents say the beatboxing was unnecessary.” I asked her how she was after her performance and she responded, “I didn’t feel like staying, so me and my family went to get ice cream.” The next question was, what song did she like to perform? Rose said, “I like singing I’m Still Standing.” After that, the next question was what goals she wanted to achieve in choir. Rose said, “Try to be a multi-linguist.” My last question was, what song do you prefer to sing?  “I put a spell on you,” said Rose. Our interview went well, and I see how it’s going for Rose, and I hope she does well in choir.

7th grader, Nathan Badillo attended his first choir concert of the year. Nathan was confident for his concert and didn’t have any difficulties performing.  His favorite song performed was, “Hallelujah.” Nathan enjoyed watching Warren perform, “They’re pretty good.” He really enjoyed performing together with Warren as well.

This was my experience at the Jordan Choir’s 1st performance, and it was a pleasure to attend. I really enjoyed their performances.  If you haven’t had an opportunity to attend a choir concert, you should really add it to your calendar.
