 What is Mental Wellness Month? 

Mental Health Awareness Month was established in 1949 to increase awareness of the importance of mental health and wellness. This act has saved over thousands of lives by spreading awareness to those who battle Mental health issues. It also spreads to those who suffer from stress and anxiety.

Ways to Destress

“When I stress out I calm myself with music and take deep breaths.” She continued. “I prefer to spend time by myself and relax. “Sometimes I will walk outside and get some fresh air. I like talking to my friends and they help me get through situations,” Lily Keating (7).

States that teenagers deal with a lot of stress from homework. However they do give off a couple of helpful tips to stay calm. Organizing a homework group with friends,creating a schedule,paying attention to the teachers and more! People let go of stress in many different ways. What works for one person might not work for another. But in conclusion we should all support each other during difficult times.

How can you Avoid Stress

Stress can come in many shapes and forms. Most of the time the reason kids ages 8-12 are stressed due to homework. When you get stressed you get jittery and your adrenaline starts to rise. But there are ways to avoid these feelings of stress or other worryful emotions. If you’re feeling uneasy about your grades for instance. Tutoring is always available when you need it. 

Stress can also come from drama in school or just in your personal life. To avoid causing yourself an eternity of stress due to drama. Avoid troublesome friends, be calm, step away from any problems that don’t connect to you. 

Stress can come from anything that worries you. Like a big project coming up to even the smallest math problem. Over 74% of people get stressed every year, and only 30% of people overcome stress. With the new year already here it’s a good time to keep your mindset safe and clean!
