STAAR Preparations

With STAAR right around the corner- I mean tomorrow! I think it’s best if you start preparing now or at least thinking about ways to prepare. Preparing for STAAR can be done in many different ways. One way is getting a good night’s rest the night before with 8-9 hours of sleep. Another way to prepare your body for STAAR is eating a decent breakfast. Drinking water is also important.
8th grader, Michael Duarte, says to prepare for STAAR he likes to review his most important notes the week before but the night before his main focus is getting enough sleep. Michael says during the STAAR test he gets very drowsy so he likes to get at least 9 hours of sleep to try and prevent himself from dozing off during the test. Michael says his mom cooks him a decent breakfast the morning of STAAR because she says if he doesn’t eat he won’t have enough energy to get through the test. Michael is very confident that the way he prepares will give him a better chance at finishing the STAR test successfully.
7th grader, Sophia Mendiola, says she prepares for STAAR by reading the night before and going over notes. She tries to sleep at a good time to make sure she gets enough sleep or at least 8 hours of sleep. The morning of STAAR she eats a great meal so she doesn’t get hungry during the test. Sophia is confident that she will do well on the upcoming STAAR test.
8th grade science teacher, Monique Martinez, says to Focus on the topics you’ve struggled with. Practice questions help. You can also complete practice STAAR exams to get the feeling for the test. To TAKE YOUR TIME! Read carefully, use strategies, brain dump, and make sure to stay calm and focused. Take breaks as needed.
In conclusion, preparing for STAAR can be done in many different ways. When preparing yourself for STAAR always remember that whatever happens during the test doesn’t affect how you did for the whole year. Now with this information I hope you know how to properly prepare for STAAR. Good luck!
