#FunFeatureFriday- Sophia
Julius Smith (7)
This week’s #FunFeatureFriday is Sophia Peralez. For the past 9 years, Sophia has been an avid softball player for the Angels in the Northwest Little League. “I started out of boredom,” needing something to do. She has played 1st, 2nd, and 3rd base, but her main position is short stop.
Sophia loves playing and has big plans for her future. She sees herself continuing softball into high school and, hopefully, playing for college. “I’ve made a lot of friends over the years. On the other hand, it can be very time consuming taking away time I could spend with friends.” Sophia’s practice runs at least 2 hours with games on Tuesdays and Wednesdays; her tournaments are often on weekends. This is all on top of her school work and the 2 sports (volleyball and track) on campus.
It takes hard work and dedication to keep her athletic schedule while maintaining AB Honor Roll and NJHS. She’s a role model in and out of the classroom.
Super proud of you, Sophia!! Love, Mom.
