Dominic Delgado- Teen of Impact
Julius Smith (7)
Dom, one of our 7th graders, started fundraising the entire month of February for the American Heart Association. He started participating in this fundraiser because he has a cousin with heart issues. Being close to his cousin, he wanted to help in some way, so he signed up to help.
“Each year, the American Heart Association chooses a select number of teens to compete in their Teen of Impact initiative. I am honored to have been nominated and selected because of my passion & ability to make a difference. I am competing against teens in the area to raise awareness and funds to support research and education initiatives to fight the #1 and #5 killers in our country, heart disease and stroke.”
Dom’s goal was to raise $15,000, but he has already surpassed that and is currently at just over $18,000. Out of the 8 other kids in the fundraiser, he raised the most money in San Antonio. Which shows he is very dedicated to things he loves.
While he is not fundraising for the greater good, he is an AB Honor Roll student actively involved in baseball, football, track, tennis, and orchestra. Dom has the honor of also being in the Spanish Honor Society and National Junior Honor Society. Not only is he a role model, he’s definitely a Teen of Impact!
