Wellness Wednesdays

Need a midweek pick-me-up? Wellness Wednesdays have you covered! Every Wednesday morning, this weekly event offers all LMS students a calm start to their day.
Recognizing the pressures that can build up throughout the week, Wellness Wednesdays aim to impart a moment of clarity and reflection.
“In order to get through the week, we need somewhere to stop and calm down and take things slow,” Founder of Wellness Wednesdays and LMS counselor, Morgan Snead said. “Wellness Wednesdays allows us that little last push we need to get through the rest of the week.”
Snead understands the stress high school brings and the importance of providing a place where students can catch up or recharge before the school day begins.
This morning event starts off every wednesday at 8:15, in the LMS loft, welcoming students with stimulating activities such as making friendship bracelets, coloring and other interactive activities!
“I think it’s nice knowing that it is something that kids want to come to,” Snead said. “It makes my heart happy.”
Wellness Wednesdays have positively impacted students’ mornings giving them a much-needed break.
“I look forward to it,” senior Evelyn Perez said. “She always has something new to offer us.” Every week, Snead aims to help students feel more at ease and comfortable.
But it’s not only about taking a break, this weekly event also builds a sense of community within LMS.
“I never want kids to say they don’t know their counselor,” Snead said. Wellness Wednesdays are the perfect way to branch out and find support, whether that be with Snead or fellow students.
This sense of community is especially valuable for freshmen who are looking to see everything LMS has to offer.
“It’s nice to talk to upperclassmen about how things are going,” Snead said. “Especially when they first start at LMS, it’s kind of overwhelming when they don’t know exactly how things are going to go. “
Building on this, Perez also highlighted the social benefits that come with such opportunities.
“It helps the underclassmen socialize. It’s very integrative.” adds Perez. “People are missing out on the fun activities that Ms. Snead has to offer.”
Snead has great things planned for the future of Wellness Wednesdays, so if you’re looking to start your morning on the right foot, be sure to drop by and say hello!

I like the beginning of the story and how it gives a solution for the rhetorical question being asked. I like how it starts off enthusiastically. It sounds like a really good option that students have available for a place to relax.
