Black Out Pep Rally

October 31, 2024 by Alyssa Hernandez

The black out pep rally, hosted on Friday, Nov. 1, will feature a series of fine arts in the auditorium; including but not limited to band, dance, drill, pep squad, and cheer.

This pep rally differs from their usual pep rallies because of the setting change, and dark lit performances.

“I’m excited to see all the performances. It’s always cool to see what dance, cheer, and drill has to do, and the games that student council does,” Former Pep Squad member Sophie Martinez said.

Not only will it be a one of a kind pep rally, but it is also during senior week for the graduating class of 2025.

“In depth, senior week for the Dance team is about our team. We receive gifts each day from our parents to celebrate us for all the years of being in spirit, working hard, and practicing our senior dance for the pep rally,” Former Dance team member Michaela Zapata said.

Members of their fine arts get to showcase their skills from freshmans who get to experience this type of pep rally for their first time, to the seniors who will get their final experience before they graduate.

“I’m most excited to be able to finally participate in the senior pep rally knowing that would be my last one. It’s just a bittersweet moment,” Zapata said.

The changes and comparison of a student’s freshman year compared to her senior year are greatly appreciated.

“It will be my last year on dance. It made me appreciate being on the team and how grateful I am to be able to experience this and having a loving team,” Zapata said. “Being on dance has allowed me to participate in more pep rallies like the blackout one, football games, volleyball games, and makes me want to be more involved knowing it’s my last year.”

Good article! Gives the upbringing of the event and how it affects the student body all around.

I love the way you worded the story and how the grammar just flows nicely through out. Your quotes are very feeling induced and I like how they show how the speaker was feeling
