In sports, relationships are vital, and the JV soccer team exemplifies this through their strong bond on the field. Players describe their team as a family, thanks to Emilio Garza’s influential leadership.

Freshman Fnu Adil highlights the significance of coach-player relationships. 

“Coach Garza challenges us, and we’re grateful for both Coach Garza and Coach Peterson for their teamwork in this program,” Adil said “Garza has made a significant impact physically and mentally, helping each player exceed their limits.”

Garza’s coaching goes beyond tactics; he fosters unity among players with diverse play styles and backgrounds. His approach not only improves team performance on the field but also builds lasting friendships and respect among players from different backgrounds.

“The JV team is a family because of our differences,” Adil said “Our goal is to become one of the best teams in the district.”

Freshman Carlos Alvarado echoes this sentiment, praising Garza’s mentorship. 

“He’s made us better as a team and a family. We care for each other and show leadership,” Alvarado said. “Coach Garza is a mentor who pushes us to be our best. His words have boosted my confidence.”

“Coach Garza has made a huge impact on the JV team and to see the maturation of the players has been really good to see. The players encourage one another and work til the very end to try to accomplish the goals that they have set for themselves, even when things are not going their way they stay in the game.“ Soccer coach Cody Peterson said.

The JV soccer team embodies strength, trust, and unity. Even when they don’t win every game, they grow closer as a family under Coach Garza’s guidance.
