Science/Dystopian Fiction:The Giver

Historical Fiction:Fever 1793

In the late summer of 1793 the streets of Philadelphia are abuzz with mosquitoes and rumors of a wicked fever. Down near the docks, many have fallen ill from this fever and the fatalities are climbing. Now they include a girl who serves at the cook coffeehouse, Polly. But Mattie Cook doesn’t have time to mourn her playmate from her childhood. Now new customers have overrun her family’s shop, located far away from the mosquito infested river, and Mattie starts dreaming of expanding her family’s small business into a thriving enterprise, forgetting all about her concerns over the fever. This proves to be a mistake because as the fever starts striking closer to home, Mattie must forget about her dream as she has to fight something she never thought she would have to. The yellow fever. And the fight to stay alive.

Romantic Comedy:Crazy Rich Asians

Rachel Chu has a normal life, normal job, and a normal boyfriend. When her boyfriend, Nicholas Young, invites her to go with him to his best friends wedding, of course she agrees. When he says they’re going to be staying with his family, she says “Why not?” and hopes that she can make a good first impression. A women who becomes cornered with all the targets on her back from people with malicious intentions. Rachel with have to navigate in a whole new world full of the elites of Singapore society, starting with Nicholas’ family, starting with Nicholas’ mother, Elanor.

Thriller/Mystery:Marion Lane and the Midnight Murder

On the late night of April 1958, Michelle White, a filming assistant for Mrs. Brickett receives a letter warning her that a heinous act is about to occur. Michelle goes to investigate but she finds the room barren. At the stroke of midnight she is murdered by a foe she cannot see-her death the only sign that she wasn’t alone in the room that night. It becomes disturbingly clear that that the person who was responsible for Michelle’s murder must also work for Mrs. Brickett’s, making everyone a suspect that causes trust to break everywhere. Almost unwillingly, first year Inquirer in training, Marion Lane finds herself being drawn in even deeper in the investigation. When her friend and mentor is framed for the crime, in order to clear his name she most sort through the hidden alliances at Mrs. Brickett’s and the mysterious secrets dating back to WW2. But the real question is will Marion survive what’s hiding beneath the surface at Mrs. Brickett’s? Or will she perish due to the killer-or her own ambitions?

Adventure:Onyx and Ivory
