Clubs Prepare Feast for Food Fest

Last year, around mid-April, Student Council hosted its very first Food Fest. For those who are unaware, Food Fest is an event in which clubs are able to sell food to students in order to raise money.

There was some confusion over what Food Fest was. Some students believed that Food Fest was simply regular cafeteria food being served out on the band pad, and others believed it would be boring. After attending, students knew otherwise.

There was a smorgasbord of food available for a small price. Pizza to root beer floats, savory or sweet options, and great tasting food was available to all students. Student Council also had a DJ come out and play music. People were quick to start dancing, and the day ended on a great note.

Food Fest was such a success that it has been scheduled to occur twice this year. It will occur two days in the fall and two days in the spring. Many students look forward to this change because they enjoyed the event so much last year.

Senior Christina Rubalcava attended Food Fest and worked at the book club booth. She thought Food Fest was a huge success and cannot wait until it happens again.

“It was amazing. Even though it was rescheduled three times because of weather complications, so many clubs stuck through, and everyone had fun,” Rubalcava said.

Food Fest is taking place on the bus loop on October 27th and 28th. There will be pizza, hot dogs, nachos, drinks and much more. Everyone is invited to attend and support various clubs, while enjoying some delicious treats, too.
