One week, five spirit days, 100 mums, one pep rally, one football game, one dance.
The week of September 26th through 30th and first day of October Hawks celebrated their 6th annual Homecoming week.
“My first spirit week I dressed up as Superman for character day, it was something fun and cool to do,” freshman Angela Prado said.
Homecoming “Hawk Walk” parade and pep rally was held Thursday, September 29th where all spirit, band and sport team members walked from the band pad to the football field.
“I felt excitement just being able to walk in the parade for the first time on drill team, but a bit of sadness because it was my last homecoming parade as a senior, “ senior Leah Espinoza said.
Underclass Homecoming court members were announced at the evening pep rally held on the turf field. Freshmen Gabriel Guisan and Layla Hill were announced Duke and Duchess. Sophomores Isaiah Guardiola and Semira Duesing were announced Lord and Lady. Juniors Jacob Del Rosario and Kayla Orta were announced Prince and Princess. Beau and Sweetheart were announced at flex pep rally crowning Jason Gonazales and Lauren Macias.
“It felt honored that my class chose me,” junior Jacob Del Rosario said.
Fans cheered as varsity football kicked off the weekend at the homecoming game against Stevens. Hawks won 59-31.
“The feeling of winning the game was like no other,” Senior Jayton Farmsworth said.
During halftime homecoming King and Queen were announced. Senior Miky Duesing was crowned king.
“It was a one time thing and added to my highschool memories,” Duesing said.
Senior Carly Mata was crowned queen.
“It felt great, all the cheer girls were cheering me on and I was smiling so big my eyes started watering,” Mata said.
Homecoming dance themed “Hollywood Night” was held Saturday October first.
“It was my first and last homecoming and I’m glad I could end the week off with all my friends,” senior Carolina Neel said.
