Bring Back Fall Fest

It’s the first month of autumn, September; the month when green leaves begin to turn orange and brown, when the Pumpkin Spice Chai Tea Latte returns to Starbucks, and the perfect time to begin rewatching the mainstream show “Gilmore Girls”. We want to celebrate the upcoming of this cozy season, and with some of the best three months it provides. What better way to do this than to bring the excitement where we spend nearly 9 hours a day?

Fall Fest is a common event across many schools in America, and we’ve been partaking in the celebration since elementary school, but unfortunately, it didn’t happen last year, and we need it back.

As of now, I’m a sophomore in high school, so I can only bring last year as an example, but last year, Fall Fest was canceled. There were an array of reasons rumored as to why.

Fall is at the beginning of the school year and students are getting to know each other. Fall Fest will bring school spirit as students dress up in Halloween costumes; it might help spark conversations based on some characters students may dress up as, and it can bring the student body together when people do group costumes. It also creates a sense of community and sets a more fun environment.

Not only is it a great way to increase school spirit, but clubs have an opportunity to raise funds. With Fall Fest, not only can attention be brought to these smaller clubs, but they can also gather funds to help improve the clubs.

What we should do is all pitch in to help bring back Fall Fest- support for such a big event can go an extremely long way. Let’s make our autumn fun!
