Students and teachers talk about our wonderful custodians, why applying to NYU is best, and what wire choir is about.
Our custodians do a lot of work for us and students tend to oversee how much hard work they do to keep our school clean.
“I think they should be paid more because they do a lot of work,” sophomore John Bustamante said.
Even the principals appreciate our janitors and give them a token of appreciation.
“I think we have the best custodians in the district. They are consistently working hard, they provide their best effort every day, and I think that, unfortunately, they are under-appreciated by students,” BC Vice Principal Margaret Bray said.
NYU is a theater arts school every theater arts students dreams about. Senior Jared Pereida is determined to make his mark on the world by doing the thing he loves the most.
“It’s focused on how you connect your passions and change the world for the better, which is something I’m very passionate about. You can have passion about something, but if you don’t do something with it, you’re really kind of wasting it, so thats’s one of the things I’m looking forward to doing at NYU,” Pereida said.
The wire choir made up of Holmes Orchestra students performs voluntarily to the community and during school events. The students are always thrilled when playing for just entertainment.
“We perform in different venues in just a manner that gives people entertainment,” viola player Miranda Johnson-Philips said.
Some students feel emotional and happy when playing for the community and other events.
“You felt it in your chest and you can really be happy with it,” violin player Jordan Perez said.
