Swimmers compete in Pentathlon

The swim team took second place overall at the Pentathlon meet on Oct. 6.

The girl swimmers consisted of sophomore Jenna Copes, freshman Suchetha Pagadala, junior Mara Asmis, sophomore Beatrice Martin, Francesca Makilan, and freshman Elainey Chancey.

Swim coach Earl Scofield said that he “felt very proud of the girls” in the way they performed.

Comments from the girls

Martin, 8th place: “It was fun because there was 50s and 100s [distance]. We did really good in my opinion. Overall girls won the Pentathlon.”

Copes, 2nd place: “The water was very cold and I had a broken foot.”

Pagadala, 4th place: “It was really fun because I was the first freshman to place.”

Chancey, 7th place: “I know I could’ve done better which is why I’m so upset. I’m very hard on myself. Even if I do good, I know I could’ve done better.”
