News Brief January 24th-28th

Monday, January 24th
Congratulations to the Taft High School swimming and diving team on a great showing at our district championship this past weekend. As a team, we were able to advance 5 relays and 14 athletes in individual events to the regional championship. A special congratulations to the following athletes for placing top 3 in their respective events: Leah Plewe, 1st place diving, Roland Salas, 1st place diving, Madilyn Williamson 2nd place, 50 freestyle, Calvin Wellman, 2nd place 200 freestyle, Jacob white 2nd place 500 freestyle, and 2nd place 400 free relay with Madilyn Williamson, Lauren Morales, Anja Nielsen, and Isabel Frandsen. Great job swimmers and divers, regionals here we come!

Wednesday, January 26th

We are living through historical times and the best way to remember everything that happens this school year is by purchasing a yearbook. Yearbooks are on sale through the end of the year, but if you want to save some money you need to order by this Friday, January 28th. The current price is $75, but will increase to $80 on January 29th. Orders are done through JostensYearbooks.com if you have any questions, please see Mrs. McCarthy in room c205 before or after school.

Thursday, January 27th

Hey Comm Arts! Starting Monday, January 31st, the student council will be selling candy bars for Valentine’s day. Be sure to stop by and catch the $2 for 1 bag deal and the $3 for 2 bags deal. Bring some cash and buy a bag for someone you care about, or even for your sworn enemy. All funds go towards the banquet and we’re counting on you to help make it great.
