Coming off of an undefeated season and winning the zone championship last year, the tennis season started back at full speed, ready to go back and win another school title for the second year in a row. With that being said, Coach Gaffney was excited when he saw more than 50 names on the sign up sheets. Unfortunately, tennis isn’t like the other sports where they keep up to 30 kids. Out of the 100 kids that tried out for tennis, less than 20 made the team.

Vs Zachry MS

9-6 W – The squad started off the season with a win, all teams fought hard but some fell short and some pulled through. The Jags will have some things to work on before they face the Jones Cougars.

Vs Jones MS

11-2 W – The Jags had it hot for them today, blowing the competition ( Jones MS ) out of the water keeping that undefeated season hope alive!

Vs Jefferson MS

9-6 L – It was a long and windy Tuesday, and the Jags battled hard but fell just short of the victory moving to 2-1 in the season.

Vs Stevenson MS

13-2 W –  Despite a tough loss to Jefferson, the Jags bounced back and put it on Stevenson, only dropping 2 matches.

Vs Neff MS

9-0 W – The Jags started the silver bracket tournament off hot wasting no time and getting Neff MS out of the way!

Vs Rawlinson MS

8-6 L- We kept the heat going, but couldn’t pull away in time before Rawlinson caught up, winning 8-6.

Congrats to the Jordan Tennis team for placing 2nd in the silver bracket and 6th overall in the district out of 21 middle schools!
